Default yet another anti smite build

this is some build ive seen played by rank 9+ groups, and it completely owns smites.

basically its ridiculous amounts of mesmers, with their only damage output being hp degen.

ive seen what it does to teams: the mesmers simlutaneously shut down the attacks form the team, while draining the monks and on top of all that giving everyone a healthy -10 hp degen.

you look at the list of names in the [p] list and its like all this purple down arrows... and the monk feebly trying to heal and its not working. at this time some tank gets frustrated with having spitefull spirit and empathy on him and uses tf for no apparent reason. then it gets really painful to watch.

anyone know the actual specifics of this build? and how exactly do you counter it?

Counter: Don't run smite.
Beat it: Quick Ele Spike Or Create an all mesmer team to counter this all mesmer team.

Obviously they are using degen, and specifically conjure phantasm, its just too good of a skill to pass up when trying to build with degen. Necro will run life siphon, so thats 3 + 5. Then you have some other mesmers run e drain as the elite, some others run migraine (3 more degen + an effect like conundrum) and bring skills like power spike, leak, drain, etc, while you let the warriors hack at the unwitting target.

haha nice counter, dont run smite

see beating a one team with a team of the same type is kinda... not the point lol. and yea, what you described sounds about right.

could this be the next fotm?

except that this wont run as well for the newer pvp players. Smite is easy, spam skills, this build Does take practice if you want to go far with it. Try doing Dark Chambers(name might not be correct, but the alter map b4 HoH) with this build and you will know what im talking about. Another reason i dont see it winning hoh is the fact that Holding HOH is neer imposible with the lack of monks. Yes this build will get more popular. But i doubt many randum pugs will be able to go far with it unless they are all skilled players while some random smite teams can actually get pretty far if they get lucky.

actually thats exactly right - iQ won one battle in the hall this night and got thrown out by some other team, and the hall traded hands each round (im guessing all pet builds lol) until 13th stepped in with their standard smite build and is holding it as we speak. im logging now so they may have been kicked like right now but w/e

too bad, i really dislike that pet build. oh well.
